Details

This tour includes 7 days of driving plus a day of rest in Syracuse.
Sicily is the island of the sun; a harmonious chorus of sky, sea, boundless hills and harsh landscapes. Sicily is the island of Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe.
Sicily is the land of perfumes; a unique and varied place, a strange and divine open-air architectural museum; “babba” (sweet), and “sperta” (crafty), lazy yet frenetic; an island with such excessive personality that it’s hard to know if this is a blessing or a curse.
We will depart from Rome heading to the port of Civitavecchia to embark on the night ferry to Palermo, Sicily.
The next six days will be spent on secondary roads with little traffic, sometimes a little bumpy, but absolutely stupendous, where pristine panoramas suddenly open up, witnesses of the ancient Civilizations that have conquered this land over the centuries.
Six days also dedicated to delicious food: cannoli, arancini and arancine, seafood and meat; wines born in a land where the sun is not ashamed to be too bright.
And then again on the ferry that goes to Naples, and from there to Rome.

Enrico Grassi, Tour Leader and Founder of Hear the Road, has spent many hours exploring the horse trails and extraordinary hospitality of this incredible island, to give you an adventure vacation that you will always remember with a smile.
